Taiwanese Billionaire, 62, Spends S.8Mil To Woo Model, 28; Sues Her After She Distances Herself By Saying She’s On Her Period

It was recently reported that Taiwanese billionaire Alan Yu, 62, who is the founder of U.S. bubble tea chain Lollicup, had sued a 28-year-old model named Sharon.

The reason? Alan was upset with Sharon for distancing herself from him after he spent a lot of money wooing her.

According to reports, Alan and Sharon first met when the latter became an ambassador for his bubble tea brand last year.

Alan fell head over heels for Sharon and even thought of divorcing his wife for her. He also spent more than TW$110mil (S$4.8mil) on a luxury car and house for her.

However, Alan claimed that Sharon started distancing herself from him. Her excuse was that she was on her period.

So incensed was Alan by the turn of events that he went on to sue her in both Taiwan and the US for scamming him.

According to reports, the High Court has since confiscated TW$50mil (S$2.1mil) worth of cash, a TW$6.5mil (S$278K) Porsche RV, jewellery and luxury bags from Sharon’s house.

Reports also claimed that the police found another S$2.1mil worth of cash and a TW$2.45mil (S$105K) BMW in her apartment.

Sharon has reportedly denied the allegations and asserted that Alan willingly gifted her the items as an apology for doing something wrong.

Sharon’s lawyer also claimed that the S$4.8mil was what Alan used to woo Sharon, and that he had given her gifts willingly.

He apparently told Sharon he was going to give her a present, and a sum of money was transferred into her account the next day.

Sharon’s lawyer also repeatedly emphasised that Alan had wronged Sharon but she does not wish to sue him back as the incident happened too long ago.

They reiterated that the money was a gift from Alan, and will leave the case to the police.
