A Taiwanese netizen recently shared on Threads — yes, people are still using IG’s version of X — that she had bumped into Taiwanese hosts Kid and Qun Qun at Taipei’s Ximending.
She also shared a photo of the hosts with another celeb, who was standing between Kid and Qun Qun.
“Does anyone still know the one in the middle?” she asked.
“I thought he was very good-looking when I was a kid (He’s very handsome now too),” she added.
Well, the “one in the middle” is actually Hong Kong star Ekin Cheng.
The netizen obviously underestimated the 56-year-old’s fame.
Her post has received many comments from other netizens raving about the ’90s heartthrob.
“Ekin Oh my goodness! He was auntie’s favourite hunk when she was young!” swooned a middle-aged fan.
A handful of netizens even recited Ekin’s lines from Young and Dangerous. The 1996 movie, in which Ekin played cool-as-nails gangster Chan Ho Nam, propelled him to the A-list.
