This Dunman High School Student Gives His Hilariously Honest Opinion On The Labubu Craze

If you haven’t heard about the Labubu craze by now… where have you been?

The massively popular elf character toy has been flying off the shelves at Pop Mart, and you’ll likely spot at least one Labubu bag charm when you’re in town.

It has even made guest appearances in a PAP video and at a Taoist festival.

But for every Labubu lover, there’s definitely someone who’s sick and tired of the hype as well, like this very honest Dunman High School student.

He was asked about his thoughts on Labubu during a street interview with TikToker @lawrenceh_, and we guess he has been waiting a really long time for the opportunity to rant.

“It’s damn ugly. It’s sibei ugly. I really hate it. I want it burned. I want it to, like, die,” he said.

Whoa. Talk about having an opinion.

His classmate then decided to tease him by saying she thinks he looks like a Labubu.

Offended, the student told his pal that she “looks more like Labubu”, even making her smile at the camera for comparison.

They were then asked the million-dollar question: “Is Labubu worth buying?”

Needless to say, the student thinks the Labubu will “run out of value very fast”. His friend, however, was more pragmatic, saying: “There’s always value in it if you like it, truly.”

It looks like the video had reached the right audience, with many agreeing with the male student’s hot take.

“It’s overrated,” read one of many similar comments.

Others also felt like it was a “waste of money” to buy Labubu toys, with some adding that it is overpriced.

These Labubu collectibles can cost anywhere from around S$20 in store, to hundreds of dollars on the resale market.

Big props to the student for speaking his mind but we think it’s best he never steps into a Pop Mart store… just to be safe.
