Is it time for Dasmond Koh to get his eyes checked?
Yesterday (Dec 10), the 52-year-old shared on TikTok a clip of him committing a boo-boo on long-running variety show The Sheng Siong Show.
In the clip, Dasmond and Kym Ng, who have hosted the show together since its inception in 2007, were trying to reach a winner whose name was picked out during the lucky draw segment.
“Terrella? Terrerra?” said Dasmond, struggling to decipher the person’s name from the receipt while waiting for the call to get through.
Kym couldn’t take it anymore and said: “Is it Terrence? What Terrerra? Who would name themselves Terrerra?”, eliciting laughter from the audience and Dasmond, who hid behind Kym out of embarrassment.
Kym then turned to ask the audience if they’ve ever heard of the name “Terrerra” before asking Dasmond: “Do you have your glasses with you?”
We tried to search for the name “Terrerra” on Facebook, and like what Kym said, no one is called that.
Dasmond’s boo-boo immediately reminded us of Denise Camillia Tan’s flub on the show last year.
The actress was standing in for Kym, who was on a five-week long MC.
Denise and Dasmond were calling a lucky draw winner, named Nicholas, when a lady picked up.
Struggling to make out what the lady said over the phone, Denise replied: “Oh! You’re his nai nai (Chinese for grandmother)?”.
Dasmond, who was suppressing his laughter at that time, then corrected Denise.
“No, she asked: ‘Who’s on the line?'”
Oh, how the tables have turned, right?
