Woman Causes Chaos At Charles & Keith Store In Taipei; Shouts Vulgarities & Damages Merchandise

A barefooted female shopper in Taiwan was seen causing mayhem at a Charles & Keith store at Taipei 101 last Sunday (June 30).

According to video footage, the woman, who was wearing a pink mini dress, was seen turning aggressive and sweeping items off the shelves.

She was also seen confronting and hitting one of staff who tried to calmly restrain her.

Another video also saw the woman shouting at a crowd of about 20 people that had gathered outside the shop to observe the uproar.

The woman was heard shouting in Thai: “No water? I’ll buy everything! I’ll take over the entire store! What are you looking at You work for me now!” before shooting off a string of vulgarities.

Mall security successfully restrained her before the police arrived.

Further investigation found that she was incoherent, leading some to suspect she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Witnesses present at the scene describe it as “chaotic” with one saying, “I was just browsing [in the store] when this woman started throwing things around. It was terrifying.”

Speaking to the media, one said she saw the woman “suddenly became irrational while walking in the mall”.

After being restrained by the authorities, she was sent to the Songde Branch of Taipei City Hospital.

After videos of the incident were posted online, unconfirmed sources speculated that the woman is a Thai national.

At the same time, others say she is Taiwanese with a Thai boyfriend.

Another suspected her to be transgender because of the tone of her voice.

One video of the incident has since garnered more than 18.6 million views.

The alleged damage of Charles & Keith’s items was estimated to be about TWD$5,000 (S$208).
