Woman Praises Jolin Tsai For Looking Like Jolin Tsai At A Supermarket In London Not Knowing It Was The Singer Herself

Can you imagine walking into the supermarket right below your block and casually seeing a celebrity buying stuff there?

While we’re not so lucky to know firsthand how awesome that must feel, this particular fan of Jolin Tsai does.

Recently, a netizen named Molly, who is presumably from Taiwan but lives in the UK, took to Xiaohongshu to share about her encounter with the 44-year-old Mandopop diva.

“I can finally confirm [Jolin] is in London!” she gushed in her caption.

According to Molly, she and her boyfriend were shopping for garlic at the supermarket below her house at around 8am one random morning when a woman, who was wearing a forest green cap with a black tank top and denim jeans, walked past her.

“The person stopped at the sandwich and burger section next to me and I saw her back view. The first thing that came to my mind was: ‘Why is this girl cosplaying as Jolin Tsai?'” she recalled.

Molly, who was very sure that it can’t possibly be Jolin, then walked over to compliment the woman for looking just like the star.

The woman, who was looking down, only responded with a gentle “Yeah”, but Molly managed to catch a clear view of her side profile. It was then that she realised who she was actually speaking to.

“I’m sorry, are you Jolin Tsai?” Molly asked in disbelief.

The lady again only replied: “Yeah”.

Molly said she immediately jumped backwards to give Jolin more space. She then burst into tears as she told the singer that she’s a huge fan and that she and her boyfriend had flown back to Taiwan last year to catch eight of her concerts.

Upon hearing that, Jolin gently patted a still sobbing Molly on her back before saying: “Bye bye.”

We are not sure if Jolin was overwhelmed by the over-enthusiastic fan or she really had somewhere else to be, but Molly said Jolin was in such a hurry that she left without scanning her receipt at the exit, which caused her to be stuck at the gantry.

When Molly shouted: “Jie jie, scan your receipt!”, Jolin turned back to give an awkward smile before leaving.

Needless to say, it was a day to remember for Molly.

“I think the chances of getting to interact with Jolin in such a mundane place is really slim, and she even patted me on my back. I’m really the most blessed person on earth. Thank you Jolin Tsai!” she said.
